TEACHING VIDEOS
What are teaching videos?
A series of short videos designed to inspire and equip coaches and athletes to integrate their faith into their athletic pursuits. These videos explore the concept of being "proven" in Christ from a biblical perspective, emphasizing how individuals can go from trying to prove their worth to being proven in Him.
Connect
In the fast-paced and pressure-filled world of sports, the endless demands of the game can easily lead to burnout and isolation. But God’s love is not based on your athletic performance; He proved His love by pursuing you through Jesus. When you shift from disconnection to true connection with Christ and others, He changes you from the inside out. As John 15:4-5 reminds us, Jesus is the vine and we are the branches. Staying connected to Him is the only way to produce lasting fruit and effectively lead your family, your team and your community. Step away from the noise of the season and discover the power of remaining in Him.
Cultivate
No athlete becomes exceptional by accident; growth requires countless hours of consistent habits in the gym or on the field. The same is true for your faith, a strong relationship with Christ requires intentional dedication and discipline. As you spend time in the Word and in prayer, God renews your heart and gives you a new identity, purpose and power through the Holy Spirit. You are called to use your sport to reflect Christ and share the Gospel with your teammates and coaches, but you cannot do it alone. John 15:8-11 reminds us that we produce fruit and experience complete joy only when we remain in His love and obey His commands. By cultivating these spiritual habits, you train in godliness and step boldly into the purpose God has for your life.
Choose
In sports, we make countless choices every day about how we spend our time and energy, but the most important choice we make is how we treat the people around us. God didn't place you on your specific team by accident; He intentionally positioned you with your coaches, teammates and support staff so they can experience His love through you. Once we cultivate our faith and receive God's love, our next step is to choose to love others the way Jesus loves us, as commanded in John 15:12. Your team can be your mission field and you are called to actively choose to serve and love the people right in front of you.
Commit
It is easy to start a season or faith journey with enthusiasm, but true commitment is revealed when trials hit. Staying committed to Christ becomes difficult when you face rejection, temptation or feel like you do not belong. In those moments, throwing in the towel and choosing the world's easier path can be tempting. Yet, Jesus promises to meet us in the hard moments. As John 15:20 reminds us, following Him comes with a cost and inevitable challenges. The cost of discipleship is great, but staying committed to Jesus and watching Him move in your heart and life is always far greater.
